GERMAN ARMIES

DISPOSITIONS IN EUROPE FORMIDABLE FORGES STILL AVAILABLE (Rec. 11. a.m.) RUGBY, July 11._ The German troop dispositions in Europe have been considerably affected by the reopening of tho Western Front. The latest figures obtainable in London are as follows: In France and the Low Countries there are believed to be 60 to 65 divisions, whereas several months ago the generally accepted estimate was around 50. . , ~ On the southern front, including Italy, the Balkans, and Hungary, tho total is about 50 German divisions. Only 15 to 20 divisions are believed to be in Norway, Denmark, and Germany itself.' Those in Germany are probably not proper field formations, hut depot and training units. The estimated number of German divisions on the eastern front, including Finland is 180 to 185. By no means are all these at full strength, and some are certainly very weak indeed. _ Further details about this distribution of forces will, it is expected, be made known shortly.
