EXTENSIVE LANDING EXERGISES (Hoc. 8 a.m.) LONDON, May 8. Tho greatest air-borne night landing of troops was carried out as an exercise over the week-end, reports the Air Ministry News Service. The operation was watched by Air Chief Marshal Sir Trafford Leigh-Mallory, who is directing the coming Allied air offensive against Hitler's European Fortress, and by United States air-borne experts. Another huge glider armada w*as seeu on Saturday, when squadrons of United States Ninth Air Force went through the latest combat technique before the invasion chiefs of the Allied Expeditionary Force.
