M WILKIE BARD 0 I LONDON. May 5. . The death has occurred of the famous comedian.. Mr" Wilkie Bard, aged 70. [Mr Wilkio Bard was an outstanding character :coinedian, who earned the reputation ;cf; being "an incomparable master o# expression and a unique adept of jiilmanity.." He had a long career on the London stage, and was, in addition to his numerous individual appearances, for many years baron or dame in tfrury Lane pantomimes. One of his • ejrliest successful appearances was when 1 ; at a salary of £3 10s a week, he had a Hinging role on a bill that featured ani>ther beginner getting £3 a wee l- Hiiry Lauder.
