GREEK GUERRILLAS
CONSTANTLY HARRYING INVADERS (Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 1. More news has been received in London of Greek guerrilla, activities. On January 11 a German detachment advancing from Gravia to Anfissa was ambushed and forced to withdraw. The next day another detachment on the way from Bralo to Klithron was attacked and suffered 75 casualties, in addition to three captured by the guerrillas. A third detachment clashing with a band in South-west Epirus lost 80 killed as against four killed and 11 wounded in the guerrilla forces. In Southern Thessaly a band attacked German motor cyclists travelling south. One guerrilla alone killed 10 with a machine gun. Patriots at Thessaly scored another success by recapturing Porta. In a clash at Zagora about 100 Germans were killed, the guerrillas suffering only slight losses. Central Peloponnese Patriots at; tacked German troops in the Leondari area: and inflicted losses in killed and captured. The guerrilla activity in the Peloponnese is workirfg chaos with enemy communications. The railway between Pyrgos and Patras has been cut. The Kalamata-Tripolitea line is unusuable. Railway communications north of Kyparissia have not yet been restored after the Wowing up of bridges in Decemiber.
