NEW AIR COMMANDERS
SIR SHOLTO DOUGLAS TAKES OVER COASTAL COMMAND "RUGBY, January S.' The Air Ministry announces that Air Marshal Sir John C. Slessor has been, appointed deputy to General Ira C. Eaker, air commander-in-chief of tho Mediterranean, where he will command all the R.A.F. units under General Eaker. The appointment of Air Chief Marshal Sir W. Sholto Douglas formerly air commander in the Middle East, as Commander-in-Chief, Coastal Command, R.A.F., is also announced* Air Marshal Slessor has commanded Coastal Command since November, 1942.
