DOMINION ESCAPED PRISONERS
ARRIVAL IN SWITZERLAND IN.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) LONDON, January 6. News of nine New Zealanders who escaped from Italy to Switzerland .has been received in London from Private D. L. Jacobs (Christchurch). He states: " About 50 from the camp I was in have arrived. The Swiss people were very good and kindness itself. I was able to hire a wireless and listen-in to New Zealand news broadcast from London every Tuesday." Expressing thanks to Mr C. B. Burdekin, who is in charge of the prisoners-of-war department, at New Zealand House, Private Jacobs says: "New Zealand House has done great work for the lads. I really believe we are treated hotter than men from any of the other dominions."
