BRITISH WAR PENSIONS INCREASED
RUGBY, July 15.
Changes in war pensions are announced in a White Paper, and will come mto force next mouth. The minimum pension payable to a ,prn ate soldier totally disabled rises from £1 17s to £2 a week. There is a corresponding increase in the family and other allowances. The basic pension for widows and their children will also be raised,' and m addition pensions for widows and others with children will be supplemented by a sum equivalent to the amount paid in rents and rates over 8s a week, The Leader of the House, Mr Anthony Eden, announced that the debate in the House of Commons on pensions will take place on the first clay of the next series of sittings.
