The Lancashire and Yorkshire Society held its monthly social on Saturday last in the Pioneer Women's Memorial Hall, Morav Place The president (Mr J. Kelle'tt) was in the chair, and an enjoyable evening was spent in community singing and panics, interspersed by the following items:—songs—Mrs Mc-Oros-tie, Miss Ada Skinner (with violin obbligato). and Mr .1. Oevereaux; humorous songs—Messrs Kllis, Swift, and Longwoj'th; violin solos and obblignto. Miss Pamela Page; recitations. .Mrs Oliver; Yorkshire reading. Mrs Walker. The accompanists were Mrs Macdonell and Mis.s Hetty Macdonald.
