MRS JANE WALKER
Mrs Jane Walker, an old resident of th« district, died at Wetherstones recently after a short illness. She was born in Edinburgh hi 1856, and arrived -in New Zealand with her parents in 1858. In 1877 her family shifted to Wetherstones, and in 1879 she married Mr Alexander Walker, who was well known in the mining industry. Mr Walker was a staunch supporter of the Presbyterian Church. Her husband died in 1932, and she is survived by seven sons, Messrs William and Ivan Walker (Lawrence), Maurice end John Walker (Moegiel), Robert ■B. Walker (Wandka), James" Walker (Christchurch), and Alexander Walker (Dunedin), and two daughters, Mrs M. B. Varcoe (Lawrence) and Mrs Olews (Auckland).
