AXIS REINFORCEMENTS
GREAT EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN FORCES LONDON, April 18, There has been active patrolling on the whole of the Allied front in Tunisia. Correspondents suggest that things are building up for, one of the biggest battles of the whole African campaign. Tha. enemy is making great efforts to' strengthen his army. He is using big convoys of transport planes, and is also sending supplies across ■ the Sicilian Strait in barges with strong fighter escort. The fact that the Germans are still reinforcing their forces is an-iridi* ca'tion of what the enemy intends t» do. The coming battles will be fought by the toughest Axis troops, the.majority of these being Germans. The' Allies are keeping up a relentless air pressure; all the lauding grounds in the enemy .8 restricted' area are being heavily bombed. There is nowhere where the enemy can conceal fuel from our air attack.
