OVERCOME BY FUMES
ACCIDENT ON TUG An inquest was opened at the Hospital yesterday afternoon into the death of Benjamin Parsons, aged (4, who died on Thursday after being admitted earlier in the day. Deceased had been overcome by acetylene fumes when working on the Otago Harbour Board tug. Evidence of identification having been given, the coroner .(Mr H W. Bundle, S.M.) ordered a post morten examination and adjourned the inquest sine die. Sergeant Conway represented the police. SECOND MAN AFFECTED. A second man. Frederick Morrison, aged 62, who had been working beside Mr Parsons at the time of the accident, was also overcome by the fumes but not immediately affected to the same degree as his workmate, was admitted to the 5 hospital yesterday after his condition had become worse. He was much improved this morning, however, and is now out of danger.
