RECORD FOR WELLINGTON
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 16. A record sum of approximately £5.700 was realised from the Wellington Returned Services' Association annual Poppy Day appeal to-day. Late tonight the sum of £5.596 Is 4d had come in, and there is still another £IOO odd to arrive. Last year's total was approximately £3,200. The figures are for Wellington and theHutt Valley. The total is not only a Poppy Day record, but is probably also a record for any street collection in Wellington.
