RESERVISTS’ WAGES.
TO THE EDITOR. noticed that our parsimonious City bathers bad decided not to give their employees who are serving in the National Kcserve the usual allowance that they arc giving their men who are overseas. The discussion on this important matter was earned out in committee. Why, 1 wonder? Why not discuss the matter in open council so that the employees should know which councillors are (heir. friends? These men who are iu the National Reserve arc doiim very wonderful work, and there should be no question at all about subsidising their military pay. They are making a very real sacrifice both as regards their domestic life and their salary in civil life. I trust (his question will be again considered. If the Japanese land here,' perhaps our City Council may require (he help of the men it refuses to help now.—l am, etc., Reservist. February 9.
