GREEK AMD SERB PATRIOTS LONDON, Dec. 29. Guerrilla warfare has again flared up in Greece, says the Kuibyshev radio. Twelve Italian soldiers were killed in Konrica. Patriots in Corfu sank an Italian supply ship and blew up another. Serbians killed 142 and injured 211 Germans in a battle near Susice, Czechs blew up a German anus ammunition store in Kolin, destroying 12 tanks, 15 guns, and several thousand rifles. An ammunition train going to the Russian-German front was also blown up at Ailaduboleslav. OCCUPIED COUNTRIES PROMISED INDEPENDENCE AFTER WAR NEW YORK, Deo. 29. The Washington correspondent of the New York ‘ Times ’ learns from an authoritative source that Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt jointly received representatives of the occupied European countries and promised that everything possible would be done to restore their full independence at the end of the war. President Roosevelt said that this time “Wo will see that Germany is, and stays, disarmed.’’ Following the conversations between Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt, a solemn declaration to the occupied countries was drafted defining the common aims against the Axis Powers. In Ottawa, Mr Churchill said that practical and far-reaching decisions were imminent as the result of the Allied war conferences at Washington. These had progressed so favourably that he was able to accept the invitation to visit Canada made by tbo Governor-General, flic Earl of Athlone, and tbo Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King.
