SLIP STRIKES HOUSE
HALF CARRIED AWAY (P.A.) BLENHEIM, Oct. 4. A slip which came down at the rear of the property of Mr C. S. Jacobsen at Fennel Bay, French Pass, on Thursday evening, struck his six-roomed dwelling and carried half of it away. Exceptionally heavy rain has been experienced at French Pass, and a large number of landslides have been caused, but as far as is known this is the only instance where there has been actual damage to property Mr Jacobsen, who has a family of eight, had ample warning of the slip and shifted his family to a neighbour’s homestead,
