ST. PETER'S CHURCH

ANNUAL BAZAAR The annual bazaar of St. Peter’s Church, Cargill rOad, was opeued yesterday, an attractive display of goods being offered for sale. The mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) stated at the opening that the liability of the church had been reduced this year to the extent of approximately £7OO. There was, however, still a need to raise further sums to meet the demands of the church work, he said, and the bazaar was one means of doing this. During the afternoon the ■ various stalls were inspected by a large number of visitors, and the day’s takings wore very gratifying. The following were the stallholders: —Fancy, Mesdames Homer and Sherherd; plain—Mesdames Hanton, Hicks, Perry, and Idour; novelty—Mesdames M’Curroch, Pickering, Pringle, and Taylor, and Miss Hutchins; oddment, Mrs Butcher and Miss Baker; sweets—Mrs Harridge, Miss Page, and Biblo class girls; cake — Mesdames Flinders and Hitchcox, and Miss Holden; produce—Mesdames Price, Howrth, Stewart, Olipbant, C. Baker, Ombler, and Paine; flower—Mesdames Pyweli, C. J. Martin, and Smith, and Miss Hall; tea

rooms —Mesdames Isaac, Wilton, and Gywnno; men’s—vestrymen and Boys’ Brigade. The bazaar will be continued to-night and. to-morrow afternoon 'and night.
