OTAGO LADIES* CLUB MEETING BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR SEASON A successful year was reviewed at ths annual meeting of the Otago Ladies’ Amiteur Athletic Club in the R.S.A. rooms last night, and prospects for the approaching season were said to be very bright. The president (Mr R. M. Carrol!) was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members as well as representatives of business firms. The secretary (Miss J. Pinkham) presented a comprehensive report which showed that the club bad enjoyed a suecessful season and that its finances were in a satisfactory state. The club was represented in the New Zealand women’s championships by Miss J. M’Grath, who gained third place in the 100yds, the placed competitors being separated by .a matter of feet. The membership had shown an increase during the year, and the clubs success was duo to a live committee. Reference was also made to the_ good work of the coach (Mr S. L. Harris). The report and balance sheet were adopted; and the election of office-bearers resulted - Patroness, Mrs A. Geddes; patron., Mr G. Dick; president, Mr E. M. CarroiU, vice-presidents—Messrs F. M’Grath; lion, secretary, Miss J. Pink-, ham: hon. treasurer, Miss P. Mutimer; delegates to Ladies’ Advisory Sub-com-mittee. Misses P. Mutimer and K. Barns; General Committee —Misses R. Garland, V. Wilkins, B. Campbell, and M. Marstor.; delegate to Otagc Centre, N.2.A.A.A., Mr L. R M‘Millan; reporting secretary. Miss P. Mutimer; coaches—Messrs S. L, Harris, M. Mun-ay, J. L. W. Gerken. and A. G. Hebbard: lion, medical officer. Dr R.Ritchie, sen.; hon. auditor, Mr J. D. M'Kechnie: hon. handicapper and selector, Mr L. R. M'Millan. Mr C. W. Clark, president of the Otngoi Centre, congratulated the club on the success it had cnioyed during the year, and staled that the centre intended to dc everything possible to stimulate farther interest in ladies’ athletics. Several! new members were elected, and opening day was fixed for October 11, at 2.30 p.m.
