SMALL MAIL LOST
RESULT OF ENEMY ACTION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 1. The Postmaster-General (the Hon. P. C. Webb) announced to-day that a small mail, consisting of letters, newspapers, and parcels, posted in the South Island for despatch by surface mail to Great Britain had been lost as the result of enemy action. The approximate dates of posting were; Letters and newspapers, March 6 to 8; parcels, March 5 to 7 (all dates inclusive).
