CONCERT AT SAWYERS’ BAY

SOLDERS' PARCELS FUND A well-attended concert in aid of the Sawyers Bay Soldiers’ Parcels Fund was held in the local hall. Prior to the commencement of the proceedings the audience stood as a mark of respect to the memory of Sergeant-pilot Owen Glengarry. The items, which were well received, were as follows: —Vocal items—Miss B. Errington, Miss M. Somerville, Mr W. Stevenson, and Mrs W. Hall-Masters; pianoforte selection. Master lan Kerr; recitation. Mr E. H. Russell; Highland dances, Miss Waveney Musson; instrumental quartettes, iTrve family; playette, ‘The Shi!ling-a-week Man,’ St. Andrew’s Scottish Players; tin whistle selection, Mr P. Eamage; instrumental trio, Frye family. At the conclusion of the performance Mi W. T. Beagley, chairman of the Sawyers Bay Soldiers’ Committee, thanked the performers for the excellent programme submi tied.
