LONG JUMP RECORD
SCHOOLBOY'S REMARKABLE PERFORMANCE (P.A.) ASHBURTON, Sept. 30. Keith Plunkett, aged 13, in his first year at high school, won the junior long jump championship with 19ft against 17ft, the previous record. He is also a champion swimmer, a good cricketer and footballer, and was third in the junior cross-country race. Plunkett last year was the holder of tho county primary schools champion cup.
