Hudson, who has boon on ilio staff of the Balclutha Post Office for the past 16 months, lias been transferred to Milton office and commenced duty there yesterday. ’ Prior to leaving Balclutha he was presented with a monetary gift from his coworkers at Balclutha. while the members of the Clutha Football Club presented him with a cigarette ease. Miss Joan M'Gregor; who has been on the clerical staff of tho ‘ Clutha Lcadei for some years and who has been accepted for the W.A.A.F., leaves this week-end for \Voodburu aerodrome. SPORT. Coif,—ln the eclectic competition played over three Saturdays by Balclutha ladies for Mrs Moffat’s trophy, results were:—Mrs Sinclair 68 net, Mrs Egurr 69, Mrs Lothian 69, Mrs Grace 70. On a count back Mrs k>aiT was the winner. In threo medal rounds for Miss Grant’s trophy in B grade results were:—Mrs Grace. 94- —91 —98 283, Mrs Allan, 97-92-97—286. Football.—Zingari played Toko, at Milton on Saturday in the annual match for the “ Runfairly"” Shield, Hie result being a win for the visitors by 13 points lo 8. _ At Kaitarigata Alhambra and Crescent third grade teams tried conclusions, tho result being a win for Crescent by 15 points to 0. Basketball.—A grade: Clinton 12, BsHmh 2: School A 24, Bx-High 0; School B 4, °Clntba A 0; Stirling 13, School B 6. B "cade; Waiwera 27, School B 2; Clutha 21, Kailangata 9: School D by default from Hospital Nurses. MUSIC EXAMINATIONS.
