SESSION ENDS NEXT WEEK

HD ELECTION DECISION YET (Special). WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. It is expected that the session will end next week. The remaining legislative programme includes the Land and Income Tax Amendment, the War Damages Bill, the Finance Bill, the Soldiers’i Rehabilitation Bill, and the usual Washing-up measures. The election issue was not considered at the Government caucus to-day.

GOVERNMENT DIFFICULTIES RECOGNISED

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 29. “ I recoguise the difficulties-of the position and I do feel that the Government is entitled to take whatever time is required to reach a decision,’! said the Leader of the Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, in an interview, when he discussed the possibility of an election. He himself had not yet been approached by the Government about the position, Mr Holland added.
