Daily Intercession
And if, at duty's trumpet call. Our manhood now be summoned hence To battle for the right, the just, O shield them by Thy providence. How confident are those that stand Beneath (ftc shadow of Thy hand.
We cry unto Thee, O God, in Whose care are all Thy creatures, on behalf of those who on sea, on land, and in the air are risking their all to save us and our heritage. We thank Thee for those who have given their lives, for those who bear in their bodies the marks of their service, for those who still intrepid are ready to face the foe. In peace or battle, in storm or calm, in camp or on the field, keep them loyal, courageous, watchful, and over foes without and within ever victorious.
We pray for all prisoners of war. Grant them, with daily bread for body and soul, the patient and firm strength they need for the long days which keep them far from home. Bless in their service, and keep from all harm, those who minister to the needs of body and soul, all doctors, nurses, chaplains, and workers in other fields of service. And comfort all wounded and sick, restoring body, mind, and spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
