Shortly after 1 p.ra. to-day a small outbreak of fire at the Oban Hotel among some old timber, caused by a spark from the furnace, required the attention of the Central Fire Station. The outbreak was quickly subdued. At 1.48 p.m. to-day the brigade also received a call to a two-storv brick and wood building at No. 3 Filleul street, occupied by British Chemicals Ltd., where an outbreak of was caused through a quantity of pitch overheating.
