MORAL REARMAMENT ISSUE Moral rearmament, the slogan of the Oxford Group, occupied a major share of the discussion at the fortnightly meeting last night of the St. Jxilcta Borougn Council. Cr it. Lougworth introduced the subject, moving that every householder in the borougn should be supplied with a small printed placard on the lines of one issued by the Palmerston North authority. Discussion was keen, the proposal meeting with spirited opposition, but the motion was finally carried by four to three. .Those present included the mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow), and Crs E. Longworth, J. H. Hinton, H. H. Johnson, R, S. Brent, T. D. B. Roy, N. D. Anderson, W. J. Lovell, and W. Rutherford. GENERAL. Water consumption for the period was 2,731,000 gallons, costing the borough £93 17s, as compared with a cost of £BS 3s 8d in the previous period. Accounts totalled £312 15s, while receipts amounted to £225 19s lid; leaving a credit bank balance of £6,127 Is.
