UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT
OTAGO ASSURED OF SHIELD fSPECUL TO THE ‘ STAB.’] WELLINGTON, April 15. The tennis was not hold to-day, but whatever these results are Otago will still gain the shield. The Otago basketball team, though not successful, played some sterling games, Joyce Clayton being worthy of note and gaming a Blue for her efforts. Margaret Finlayson, playing centre, was very sound. Pat Donnelly maintained the high Donnelly standard of sporting ability. Her cricketing brother needs no introduction, and now the Donnelly family can boast of a basketball player of no mean ability. To-day’s sports being postponed, the students had a greater chance to enjoy tho social aspect of tho tournament. This was brought to a grand climax with the ball in tho evening. Blues have been awarded to all those winners of titles in athletics and swimming.
