STAMPS RECALLED
ISSUE AS OVER-PRINTS [Pbs United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 17_
Owing to tho necessity of conserving paper stocks and stamps, tho id and lid King George VI. stamps have been recalled from all post offices, and these will be over-printed with new values, the id being converted into Id, and the lid into 2d. These over-printed stamps will be brought into use during May. There will be no particular date of issue, the stamps being brought into use immediately the stocks of current stamps are exhausted. Under the existing postal rates neither the id nor the lid stamps are used extensively.
