Mr A. M. Clark, of California, has been offered the position of assistant lecturer in geography at Canterbury University College, according to an announcement at a meeting of the Canterbury University College Council. Mr 11. G. Bowman, a member of the Soil Conservation Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, who has been temporary assistant in geography at the college this year, is unable to remain any longer in New Zealand. . Mr Alfred Tarltou was recently appointed secretary and London manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand Ltd., filling the vacancy caused by the retirement of Air C. H. Cooke, who served the firm for 50 years. Mr Tarlton joined the company in 1905, and has served in all departments. In 1924 he was appointed produce manager, and also became honorary secretary of the New Zealand and Australian Agents’ Association in that year. He visited New Zealand in 1929-00. In the last war he served with the London Rifle Brigade. Mr Frederick C. Bobby, an English poultry expert, has been appointed a superintendent of poultry husbandry in New Zealand, and will arrive in the Dominion shortly. At the time of his appointment Mr Bobby was manager of a commercial duck farm v ith an output of 13,000 ducklings annually. He studied at the Cheshire School of Agriculture, the Harper-Adams Agricultural College, Shropshire, and the National Institute of Poultry Husbandry.
