Daily Intercession
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.—(Romans xii.: 9-10.) Eternal God, hear and accept our prayer on behalf of the women who suffer patiently and in loneliness while their menfolk are away on national service. Preserve them from all bitterness; grant that they may knoiv that their quiet heroism is no less worthy than deeds of valour far renowned. If sometimes they must tveep, yet grant them grace that through their influence life may be a sweeter and a nobler thing for the generation yet to be. Where men have failed, may women succeed, purging this world of cruelty and strife, to the glory of Thy Holy Name,
