WEDDINGS

MITCHELL—BROWN. The Mornington Presbyterian Church, charmingly decorated with cream, blue, and pink flowers, was the scene of an unusually pretty wedding, when Grace Brown, youngest daughter of Mrs E. Dempster, made a beautiful picture in a silver lame frock cut on simple lines, the bodice'and train of which wore finished in cream net with silver flower appliqued. The veil, worn over the face, was held in place with silvered arum lilies, and the bouquet was a sheaf of the same lilies. The two matrons-of-honour, Airs John Kelly, of Auckland (sister of the bride), and Mrs Bert Alurison, of Oamaru (sister of the bridegroom), were gowned alike in cream taffeta, featuring the new bustle backs. The bridegroom was attended by Air lau Alorrison and Air Arthur Lambourne, while the duties of ushers were carried out by Alessrs Alex. Alorrison and Bert Alurison, of Oamaru. After the ceremony the guests were welcomed at the Strand Salon by the bride’s mother, who wore a smart frock of black lace and georgette and a small black hat trimmed with clover-coloured feathers, and carried a very pretty posy of clover tonings.
