TROTTING AT FORBURY PARK
DUNEDIN CLUB’S SPRING MEETING The Forbury Park Trotting Club was favoured with glorious weather for the two days of its spring meeting, Monday perhaps being the most perfect day for racing. Lady patrons, however, favoured suits and ensembles rather than light summer frocks, and some beautiful furs made fascinating accessories to these. On the first day Mrs B. S. Irwin, wife of the club’s popular president, wore a frock and hat of forest green, with a full-length fur coat; on the second day her green ensemble was completed by a smart edge-to-edge coat and a fur stole. Miss lona Irwin wore on Saturday a brown ensemble with furs, and on Monday a russet brown tailored suit with a high-crowned velour hat to tone. The Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs A. H. Allen) were present, the latter wearing a smart black wool frock, patterned in w-hite, smart black hat, and fnr coat. Visitors to the course included Mr J. E. August (president of the Hutt Park Trotting Club) and Mrs August (black suit and hat, with furs), Mr and Mrs J. R. M'Kenzie (of Christchurch), Mr and Mrs C. S. Donald (of Christchurch), Mr and Mrs E.
