Advice has been received of the promotion to sergeant-gunner of R, W. Trcngrove, only son of Mr and Mrs Trcngrove, of Haig street, Mornington. Sergeant Trengrove, who is 18 years of ago, has been on active service with the Royal Air Force for the past five months.

Dr James Hight has decided to relinquish the position of rector of Canterbury College from January 31 next.
