MODEL ENGINEERING
The chairman (Mr E. P. J. Cousins) presided at, the monthly meeting of the Model Engineering Club, held in the Winter Show building to permit of the gauge track being laid down for experimental running. The track has only recently been completed, and it has not yet been possible to build the trestle work to raise the track from the ground. It was reported that steps were being taken to rectify this disadvantage, and when completely finished the, track would bo a very useful adjunct to the club. It was stated that Mr I. C. Ingle’s partlycompleted locomotive had run under steam in a satisfactory manner. At the request of the A. and P. Society the track was operating at the patriotic function last Saturday, but, owing to the uneven nature of the ground, it was impossible to obtain good results,’but Mr H, L. Thomson’s locomotive did well under extremely difficult conditions.
