WASTE MATERIALS
COLLECTION ON SATURDAY NEXT APPEAL TO MOTORISTS In connection with the collection of waste materials which is to be made on Saturday morning next, motorists are asked to make their cars available to convey the materials (which will be collected from the houses by some 1,400 bovs) to the various depots in the suburbs. The collection is being organised on similar lines to the recent clothes drive, and coupons for petrol will be issued to each car owner. These waste materials are urgently required by the Government as part of the Dominion’s war effort. All materials are to be •riven free, and the proceeds from the sale will be devoted to local patriotic funds. Those willing to make their cars available are requested to hand their names in to the Automobile Association before Wednesday, after which they will be advised as to their particular districts.
