TOKIO, February 13. ■ ' (Received February 14, at 8 a.m.) The Imperial Household Ministry has sanctioned the erection on Kalura Island, in the Palau Archipelago, of a first-class Shinto shrine named South. Seas Grand Shrine, dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasoumibami in commemoration of the 2,600 th anniversary of the Empire, for the 120,000 inhabitants, including . 75,000 Japanese. This indicates the* importance which Japan attaches to the islands as an outpost of their southward advance.
