Jenny, hugging her favourite doll that had lost both arms and its hair, went to visit a 10-months-old cousin she had never seen before. After eyeing the baby for several minutes, she asked: “How long have you had her, Aunty Emily?” “Just 10 months, dear,” her aunt replied. Jenny transi ferred her critical gaze to her battered doll, and observed: “ Well, I must say you certainly have taken good care of her!”
