MAYFAIR
A cracksman of disarming charm, with past deeds that have sprinkled the police force with headaches, the Lone Wolf metaphorically howls again in ‘ The Lone Wolf Spy Hunt,’ tho leading film in the new Mayfair double bill. The Lone Wolf is living a quiet, honest life in the suburbs, but men he has bested in the past are out to get him by the simple means of cracking safes for War Office plans and leaving enough clues to send the Lone Wolf to gaol for life. That, ends the Lone Wolf’s retirement, and he brings his full wits and craftsmanship to bear. Warren William in the leading role is excellent, and he is well supported by the comedy of Ida Lupine. The second full-length feature is ‘ The Gracie Allen Murder Case.’ one of the most delightful variations of the Hollywood mystery film that has been seen in Dunedin to date.
