DEGREASE IN ATTENDANCES

SCHOOL COMMITTEE CONCERNED The Macandrew Road. School Committee held its first meeting of the year, Mr H. K. Ross (chairman) presiding. Mr A. M. Davidson’s report showed, when comparing last year s roll numbers with : those .of this year, that the school had suffered a loss-of 41 pupils. The committee feels that this is a matter of deep concern, and it was agreed that the remainder of the head master’s report should form the text of a resolution. . ■ An ever-increasing annual -loss of. pupils in the primary schools, 'with a consequent decrease in the number of pupils attending our can be expected for many years unless tha necessary active steps are taken to arrest the declining birth rate.
