FINAL DRAFT FOR SECOND ECHELON REQUIREMENTS FOR THIRD QUOTA LATEST LOCAL ENLISTMENTS This morning the final draft of men to go into training for the second echelon of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force left for northern camps. There were 35 in the draft, 34 of whom were for Burnham and one for-Tren-tham. They were joined at Dunedin by a draft of men from Invercargill. The following are the names of those who left to-day:— For Burnham; Anderson, T. H. C.; Barr, J. S.; Baxter, J. S.; Beel, T. J.; Cherry, Walter; Crook, J. I.; Fulcher, B. W.; Gillan, R. G.; Provo, Bartlett: Rae, John; Rae, W. C. j Reid, W. H.; Simpson, Edward; Smith, G. C.; Smither, A. E.; Sutherland, A. M.; Tate, E. R. V.; Thompson, J. A.; Tisdall, R. W.; Williams, C. THE THIRD ECHELON, Men for the third echelon are now wanted, and there are about 40 names enrolled at present.- The quota for this district is 383, and is made up as follows: Rifle Battalion, 190 men, including batmen, policemen, orderlies, carpenters, storemen, signallers, mortar personnel, drivers, pioneers, stretcherbeares, postmen. Seventh Anti-tank Corps, 18 men, including mechanics, artificers, technical storemen, batmen, drivers, cooks (two), orderlies, storemen. Sixth Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, 45 _ men, including clerk, driver-mechanics, motor mechanics, technical storemen, drivers, signallers, butcher, orderlies. Eighth Field Company, New Zealand Engineers, 30 men, including carpenters, clerk, electrician, engineerartificer, fitters, plumber and pipefitters, pioneers, drivers, bricklayers, concrete mixers. Divisional Signallers, seven men, including linesmen, drivers, reinforcements. Field Ambulance, 15, including clerk, orderlies, stretcher bearers, water duties, hospital cook. Divisional Supply Column, 21 men, including driver-mechanics, drivers, reinf orcemetns. Reinforcements are also required for the Fifth Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery (11), Fifth Anti-Tank Corps (8), Rifle Battalion (28), Machine Gun Company (10). REGISTRATIONS. So far there have been no apparent results of Wednesday night’s recruiting rally, and the latest list of applicants is not large, there being 11 names.
