WEDDING

WADE—MACDONALD. A pretty wedding was solemnised on October ‘2O at the Sawyers Bay Presbyterian Church when Alexander, elder son of Mr and Mrs C. W. Wade, of Port Chalmers, was married to Alexina, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Macdonald, of Sawyers Bay. The officiating minister was the Rev. R. T. Dodds, and Miss Rita Kettle was at the organ. The church was attractively decorated with spring flowers by Mrs M. Prattley and the teachers of the Sunday school. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a cream satin gown and veil to match. She carried a bouquet of lilies and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Cera Duff (cousin of the bride) and Miss Ilhoda Macdonald (sister of the bride), who wore blue georgette frocks trimmed with velvet. They carried bouquets of golden tulips. Attending the bridegroom was his brother, Mr William Wade, as best man and Mr Stanley Crawford as groomsman. The usher was Mr Peter Hayward. The reception was held at, the Radiant Hall, St. Andrew street, where over 70 guests were received by Mrs Macdonald wearing burgundy, and Mrs Wade assisting her, wearing navy blue. They both carried posies of tulips. During the reception Miss R. Macdonald sang the solo. ‘ Bless This House,’ and for the remainder of the evening music was given by two members of a dance hand. Mr and Mrs A. Wade’s future home will be at Port Chalmers.
