RETURNED SOLDIERS’ CHOIR
For the fiual concert of the 1939 season. which will be held in the Concert Chamber on Monday, a programme of wide and varied 1 interest has been arranged. Mrs J. M. Lyon, F.T.C.L., L.U.S.M.. soloist pianist, and Miss Blanche Errington, contralto, will assist Mrs Lyon will play ‘ Nai’a. Waltz’ (Dohnanyi), and Miss Errington will sing ‘ Softly Awakes M> Heart’ (Saint-Saens). The choir under the baton of Mr L. B. Borrow, and accompanied by Miss Sybil Baker, will render several new works and a few old favourites. In response ro many requests, Dudley Buck’s cantata, ‘Chorus of Spirits and Hours’ (with! Mr W. N. Satterthwaite as soloist), will bo given in addition to ‘ Tin* Deathless Army,’ * Comrades in,. Arms.’ and ‘ The Sword of Ferrara-.’ Of’ep items include ‘ The Beleaguered.’ 1 the Sea.’ * Creation's Hymn,’ 1 Tl" O’d Woman.’ and a medley of old so'<’mi s’ songs specially arranged. The box plan arrangements are advertised.
