REPORTED DISCOVERY OF A MAMMOTH'S TUSK
A tusk, believed to be that of a mammoth or other prehistoric creature, has been found as the result of a fall of the clay cliff near the Priest and Sow Corner at Tankerton, Whitstable, England. Mr L. Kemp, of Herne Bay road, Tankerton, noticed smethiug curious protruding from the freshlyexposed cliff face and dug round it to expose it further. The tusk is about 4ft long and of the thickness of a man’s arm. After exposure to the air it tended to become brittle, and it is being treated with a preservative.
