[From Our . Correspondent.) PERSONAL. Mr W. Norrie, of Dunedin, visited Lawrence during the week-end. Mr and Mrs A. C. Browne are at present visiting Wellington. Miss Phyllis Parkhill has been spending a few days with her parents, Constable T. W. and Mrs Parkhill. Constable Matheson, of Waitahuna, is at present on annual leave, and is being relieved by Constable Lahurt for three weeks. Mr and Mrs V. H. Clark and family, of Anderson’s,Bay, Dunedin, are spending their annual holiday with their parents, Mr- and Mrs T. H. Clark, Colonsay street. Miss Muriel Weston, Amberley, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs G. Weston, Oban street. Mrs Chapman and her two children, of Kurow, are spending a holiday with Airs Chapman’s parents, Air and Airs Worthington, Campbellton street. Alisses Margaret Martin (Benhar), Reba Grigg (Ohai), and Barbara Gunn (Lumsden) are spending their term holidays in Lawrence. Detective-sergeant G. Robertson, of Wanganui, and his son Lawrence are staying with Air and Airs Andrew Robertson, Colonsay street. ROXBURGH LADIES’ GOLF TOURNAMENT. Bowie, of the Lawrence District High School staff, was farewelled by the.staff, secondary pupils, and! other friends at. a tea and social in the school. The speakers were the rector (Mr E. M. Stevens),- who (presented Mr Bowie with a razor, Miss E. Labes, Mr G. Weston (for the committee), and Miss G. Gunn, for , the Lawrence Ladies’ Hockey Club, also made him a presentation. Mrs Bowie was presented with a box of chocolates. Mr Bowie left this week for England. At a social evening at the R.S.A. Hall, opportunity was taken to present Mr E. H. Hel.v and Mrs Hely. who are leaving Lawrence shortly, with a suitable token of esteem. ,On behalf, of members and others, they were given a Pyrex casserole. MUSIC EXAMINATIONS. Local results in the Trinity College of Music June theory examinations include the following:—Senior pass: Elizabeth M. Kilner, 76. Preparatory honours: Joan Cameron, 100; Shirley Stewart, 100.
