On the occasion of the official visits hy sister lodges to Loyal Dunedin, guests were cordially received. The Prov. D.G.M. and I.P.P.G.M. were in attendance, together with representatives of all city and suburban lodge?. One candidate was initiated. Loyal Caversham forwarded an invitation to. attend its meeting. An excellent programme of items was contributed to by Miss Pocook, Mr and Mrs Dawson, Messrs Arthur Lungley, Peter Dawson, and S. Larkins. Mr Newey acting as accompanist. The programme was arranged by P.G. Bro. Allan Cameron. Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge have of late been having successful meetings. The half-yearly balance sheet has been presented, and this divulged a healthy state of affairs in all funds. P.G, Bro.' W. Bennett bestowed upon P.G. Bro. W. Houliston his lodge’s appreciation of services rendered, iu the form of aa, ■emblematical certificate and officer’s re-;: galia. At . the meeting on Tuesday evening the lodge entertained:'female, members and' friends at an enjoyable dance. . ■ ■

Earlier in the month- a party compris-. ing representatives of Loyal Hand and Heart, Dunedin; Albion, and Oamaru Lodges, together with Prov. D.G.M. Bro. W. H. Masters and T.P.P.G.M. Bro. W. Sellar paid a visit to Loyal Band of Friendship Lodge, Kakanui. The meeting opened in mourning for P.G. Bro. W. Wright, an elderly member, who, in his younger days, had been a stalwart member. Two nominations for membership were received. The main business was a discussion on the Social Security Act in its relation to lodges, the meeting ultimately deciding not to participate while the Act was in its present form. A social hour was spent in honouring toasts and listening to items rendered by Bros. W. Sellar. Geoff. Clark, J. Cook, C. Leen,, and J. M'Phail. Loyal Princess Mary Lodge hgs been well represented at the Various official and social functions held during the fortnight. It has arranged with the officers of Loyal Centenary Lodge for an exchange of chairs, at the next meeting. Officers of this lodge will conduct proceedings, and later entertain the ladies at a dance. At the recent meeting the lodge entertained the members of combined juvenile lodges at games and competitions. KG. Bro. Taylor presided at the meeting of Loval Albion, and was greeted by a large attendance of members and visiting sisters and brothers. A game of trump whist was played, Sisters Sellar and Challis being successful in annexing the ladies’ prizes, while Bros. A. Parker and W. M‘Allan-se-cured the honours in the male section. The committee set up to supervise the seventy-fifth anniversary celebrations m October has announced the following functions for the occasion, extending from October 26 to 30 (inclusive) Wednesday evening, an at home in the ]od°'o room; Thursday, ordinary meeting- Friday, a ball in the Town Hall Concert Chamber; Saturday, smoke concert in. the Victoria Hall; Sunday attendance at service in First Church at 11.
