GRAND HOTEL STAFF'S ANNUAL BALL

The anmi.il ball given by the staff of the Grand Hotel was held last evening at the Embassy Salon. It was a most enjoyable dance and had been arranged by the following committee:—Miss M. Newton, Miss M. Orlowski, Messrs Ruddy, E. Wahrlick, and Mr ti. Bevis During the evening an exhibition of dancing, which proved very popular, was given by Miss Cora Duff and Mr Leo Schmeltz. The guests of honour were Mrs Arthur Paape, Mr and Mrs Fred Paape, Mr and Mrs 11. Newall, Mr and Mrs J. Metcalfe, Mr and Mrs Alec Sime, Miss Mackay, Mr and Mrs Hastings, and Miss Harlock. Apologies were received from Air Arthur Paape, who was unable to be present owing to illness, and from Mr and Mrs Arthur Sidey. Among others present were Alesdames G. Bevis, S. Rhodes, R.
