INSTITUTE OF SECRETARIES
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries was held in the University Club rooms on Wednesday, Mr W. H. Tyrrell presiding. Moving the adoption of the annual report and accounts, the chairman referred to the increased number of candidates forthcoming for each examination who were invariably students who had completed or were completing the New Zealand Society of Accountants course and were then required to take only the final three subjects of the institute’s course. The branch register was almost enitrely composed of members who were also members of the society. H was moved as a recommendation to the incoming committee that, subject to approval a prize be offered to the student in the accountanev course securing_ the highest marks in the term examinations in secretarial law and practice this year. The following were elected officers of the branch;—President, Mr F. R. Thompson; vice-president. Mr R. S. M Sinclair; treasurer. Mr H. W. Tyrrell; secretary, Mr E. R. Grace; advisory eommtitee, Messrs G. S. Smith and L. H. Dear. In accordance with an arrangement entered into with the Canterbury branch, Mr E. R. Grace was appointed South Island delegate to the annual meeting, to be held at Auckland in September
