A DENIAL
NOT INCREASING THEIR TARIFFS WELLINGTON PRIVATE HOTELKEEPERS [Per United Press Association.} WISLINGTON. July 21. Tho Wellington Private Hotelkeepers’ Industrial Union of Employers at a meeting yesterday resolved that, in regard to the statements published to tho effect that Wellington private hotelkeepers and boarding house proprietors are greatly increasing their tariffs and dispensing with their permanent or regular boarders in view of the approaching New Zealand Centennial Exhibition period, the association desires to give those statements an emphatic denial, as such is decidedly not the position. The report supplied to the Press says that although high wages and rising costs of foodstuffs are giving deep concern and may ucccssitaic a relevant
advance, no further increases m charges are at the moment seriously contemplated. On the other hand. it is the desire of the association to assist the exhibition authorities in every possible way to provide adequate and reasonable accommodation for visitors to Wellington during the exhibition period.
