MORNINGTON BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING On Wednesday evening the members of the Moruington Club_ held their annual meeting in the pavilion, the retiring president, Mr L. Ireland, being in the chair. He made feeling reference to the death of the vice-presidnt, Mr William Holloway, whose breezy personality would be missed from all club activities. Members stood_ in silence as a mark of respect to their late comrade. Upon moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, Mr Ireland commented upon the favourable results of the year. There had been an increase in the number of members, and £3B had been expended upon plant, a new power mower and spike roller having been purchased. By the efforts of a willing band of workers and generous donations from some, of the men, _a great improvement hafl been made in the green. This augured well for the play in the coming year. He thanked members for their loyalty and support. After discussion the adoption of the report and balance sheet was carried. The following prizes for ties were presented:—Championship of club and president’s prize, Mr Barclay Kirkland; handicap singles, Mr Barclay Kirkland; colts’ prize, Mr L. M'Kenzie. Mr Charles Foley was elected president for the forthcoming season, and was duly installed. The following officers were elected;— Vice-president and secretary, Mr Robert Liddell; treasurer, Mr B. Kirkland; committee —Messrs Henry Barron, J. G. Butler, C. Hamilton, W. Hodge, J. Hornall, N. Morrison, and L. M'Kcnzie; centre delegates, Messrs J. G. Butler and C. Hamilton; Ties Committee, Mr H. Barron; auditor, Mr Colin Fraser; supervisor, left to committee to appoint; selectors, Messrs L. Ireland and C. Hamilton. Centre remits were dealt with in this manner: —Roslyn remit, not supported; Leith remit, supported; Logan Park, not supported; Balmaeewen—(.l) left to discretion of delegate, (2) not supported ; centre —Q) left to delegate, (2) not supported.
