HOW TO JOIN THE TERRITORIALS
You should be between the ages-of IS and 32 and reasonably fit. You should ‘call .at or telephone the Defence Office at the Drill Hall, Kensington, or the Central Battery, Ocean Beach, and ask for a member of the regular staff. He will give you every detail of information you require. Or you can visit any of the local units during. their parades (as given below) and observe the work that is done. One of the territorial officers on duty will be available and very pleased to discuss matters with you and explain any points of interest. You have members of the territorial forces amongst your acquaintances. Any one of them will be pleased to counsel you. Parados at present being held in the Dunedin district arc:— Mondays; Otago Mounted Rifles Regiment, at the Drill Hall. 14th Battery (Gin Howitzer), at St. Kilda. Tuesdays: Otago Regiment (companies and specialist units, such as signals, intelligence, mortars, motor cyclists). Wednesdays: 12th Battery (4.5 in Howitzer), at St. Kilda. Telephone Numbers: New Zealand Field Artillery, 22-762. Otago Mounted Rifles, 23-901. Otago Regiment, 23-801. Whether the unit you wish to join is already up to strength or not, remember, no fit and willing man will be refused.
