BARRAGE OF PROTESTS
MR NASH IN LONDON
BRITISH MANUFACTURERS RESENT IMPORT RESTRICTIONS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 13. (Received June 14, at 10 a.m.) Mr Nash is at present countering a barrage of protestations from (British manufacturers in respect of the import restrictions, including the national federations of radio, boot, shoe, woollen, glass, linoleum, and hosiery manufacturers, with whom he is in close consultation, each presenting its case why more of its particular products should be admitted to New Zealand.
’Mr Nash is also engaged in conversations with the heads of banking, insurance, and shipping interests. He conferred with Sir John (Reith in respect of the transtasman air service. His forthcoming engagements include an address to the London Chamber of Commerce on June 16 and a visit to the Imperial Defence College on June 15.
ADDRESS ON CURRENT PROBLEMS LONDON. June 13. (Received June 14, at 11.35 a.m.) The Hon. W. Nash addressed the Empire Parliamentary Association on ‘ International and Interempire Problems from a New Zealand standpoint.’ Sir Thomas Inskip and many members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords were present.
